MOREL: “NO CONSIDERO QUE SEA UNA BUENA ESTRATEGIA NI QUE DÉ SOLUCIÓN”

El alcalde del municipio de Río Branco salió al cruce de las declaraciones del diputado frenteamplista Alfredo Fratti, quien planteó el cierre efectivo de la frontera con Brasil.

Christian Morel se manifestó a favor de mantener la convivencia en la frontera.

El titular del Municipio fronterizo comenzó haciendo referencia al impacto que ha tenido a nivel local la medida del cierre de los comercios de Free Shop: “obviamente que está repercutiendo, obviamente que hay una suerte de preocupación por cada uno de los trabajadores de los free shop pero creo que nos adaptamos y no nos tomó tan de sorpresa porque veníamos de un tiempo largo de la frontera alicaída, se habían movido muy poquito la aguja como para sentir ahora el cimbronazo”, manifestó el titular del gobierno local, quien también dijo que la movilidad en ese punto fronterizo se ha visto muy limitada con las últimas medidas tomadas por el gobierno nacional y sobre el posicionamiento de Fratti de cerrar la frontera, Morel opinó: “si bien nuestra frontera es la más fácil de cerrar, también hay que pensar a lo largo y a lo ancho de todo el Uruguay, y no puede ser perjudicado Río Branco porque tenga un río que lo una y un puente que lo separe. No considero que sea una buena estrategia ni que dé solución, obviamente respeto la idea pero no es la que quiero para mi ciudad, para mi pueblo, en momentos tan difícil es donde muchos de los trabajadores o de aquellos que apenas pueden lograr una changa, van a Yaguarón y hacen un buen surtido. Entonces, mientras podamos seguir conviviendo y que nuestro pueblo, nuestra gente, los más necesitados, puedan cruzar al lado de Brasil para hacer rendir mas esa changa, yo voy a estar defendiéndolos a ellos y pidiendo por los que menos tienen”.
