La Intendencia de Cerro Largo ha procedido a habilitar, en las últimas horas, obras de alumbrado en diferentes zonas de Melo.
65 luminarias y columnas además de 900 metros de cable fueron los principales materiales utilizados en las obras que permiten alumbrar tramos de varias calles de la ciudad.
Han quedado en funcionamiento 13 nuevas luminarias de 70 watts en calle Juan Díaz en la zona norte, para lo cual se colocaron igual número de columnas y 400 metros de cableado.
Igual número y tipo de luminarias con sus respectivas columnas, fueron encendidas en calle Sarandí, entre Darío Silva y Murguía; para esta obra se llevó a cabo el tendido de 300 metros de cable.
En calle Nano Pérez, donde ya se había realizado el tendido de cable, quedaron en funcionamiento 29 luminarias LED 70 watts, con sus respectivas columnas.
El alumbrado en el extremo oeste de calle Rodó también es una realidad, ya que en esa calle desde Darío Silva hasta Avenida de las Américas quedaron en funcionamiento 7 luminarias LED de 70 watts con sus respectivas columnas. En este tramo se procedió al tendido de 200 metros de cable.
También quedó habilitado el alumbrado de las canchitas ubicadas en Barrio Caltieri, al lado del Gimnasio Municipal de calle Esteban O. Vieira.
En las últimas horas se habilitó el alumbrado de un importante tramo al Norte de calle Navarrete, entre Ejido y Esperanza; en ese tramo se instalaron 8 luminarias de LED de 70 watts con sus respectivas columnas y unos 200 metros de línea.
En Barrio Soñora quedó encendido el alumbrado de calle Chasque desde Martin Liz hasta Santa Ibañez. En ese tramo se instalaron 10 luminarias LED de 70 watts con sus respectivas columnas, a la vez que fueron utilizados unos 300 metros de cable.
Prosiguiendo con las habilitaciones, la Intendencia procedió a dejar encendidas las luces de dos importantes calles de Sector 9, Cándido Monegal y Juana de Ibarbourou, donde se colocaron 17 luminarias LED de 70 watts con sus respectivas columnas, en tanto se utilizaron 400 metros de cable. En calle Cándido Monegal quedaron en funcionamiento 13 luminarias LED 70 watts. Para dicha obra fueron instaladas 13 columnas, y se utilizaron 300 metros de cable.
Cabe indicar que una vez culminados los trabajos de alumbrado en Barrio Anido, a mediados de abril, la Intendencia tiene previsto iniciar un intenso trabajo de alumbrado en Sector 9, una de las principales necesidades detectadas en esa zona, en la que serán instalados unos 180 focos.
