EDIL IRIGOYEN PLANTEO QUE INTENDENCIA, MUNICIPIO Y VECINOS SUMEN ESFUERZOS PARA RECUPERAR LA ZONA DE PLAYA QUE SE VIO AFECTADA TRAS LA APERTURA DE UN CANAL QUE PASABA POR EL VIEJO VERTEDERO DEL BALNEARIO
El edil nacionalista Peter Irigoyen planteó inquietud por el tránsito de vehículos en la franja costera de la Laguna Merín hacia la desembocadura del río Tacuari y también se refirió al canal realizado, días atrás, por la Intendencia departamental, planteo que fue derivado al Ministerio de Medio Ambiente así como a la propia Comuna y al Municipio de Río Branco: “vecinos del lugar, veraneantes y quien habla estamos preocupados por ese tema. Ahí se abrió un canal para desagotar el famoso Bañado del Jacaré, por suerte después se tapó, pero el daño ya estaba hecho, salió basura, restos de todo un poco, quedó todo en la zona de playa y de ahí que le planteamos a Domínguez (Director de Medio Ambiente de la Intendencia) para poder hacer algo, incluso estuve también en contacto con representantes del Municipio de Río Branco, para hacer jornadas de limpieza en toda la zona y que también los vecinos apoyen porque es algo de todos”, manifestó el edil, quien también se mostró preocupado por la circulación de vehículos en la zona de playa: “también hablamos del tema de la circulación de vehículos, que están pasando muchos, inclusive tengo el registro de huellas de vehículos cruzando desde el balneario hacia la desembocadura donde es un ecosistema muy frágil, donde hay aves que anidan en la arena, diferente flora y fauna que está siendo muy perjudicada”, afirmó.
Irigoyen recordó que los controles de la franja costera le corresponden a la Armada Nacional y al propio Ministerio de Medio Ambiente: “también falta información porque antiguamente habían carteles donde se informaba que era una zona de reserva, que no se puede cruzar en vehículos, se explicaba que había una ley que incluye multas por incumplimiento. Tal vez pueda ser una alternativa hacer un sistema de cartelería donde se le pueda avisar a la gente, para entre todos hacer algo, concientizar y educar antes de multar, porque es un ecosistema muy frágil que hay que cuidarlo y también la posibilidad de generar visitas guiadas para sumarlo a los atractivos turísticos de la Laguna Merín”, sentenció.
