El Intendente de Cerro Largo, dirigiéndose a los comerciantes de Río Branco, lamentó las pérdidas sufridas a raíz del cierre de fronteras, agradeció la paciencia que han tenido, y les exhortó a comprometerse a cumplir y hacer cumplir los protocolos desde este miércoles.
El Jefe Comunal y Presidente del Comité Departamental de Emergencia, compareció ante un grupo de comerciantes de la ciudad fronteriza acompañado entre otros por el Alcalde Christian Morel, en lo que fue una asamblea de intercambio con los destinatarios principales del decreto presidencial que permitirá el pasaje de brasileños por el Puente Internacional Maúa.
Sin embargo fue claro en señalar que Río Branco no debe ser noticia por esta decisión, ya que si lo somos es porque paso algo inconveniente.
Agregó que no desea que el Presidente de la República lo llame para decirle que hay que volver atrás, eso seguro no va a pasar -dijo- porque vamos a trabajar con los comerciantes que son la primera línea de batalla.
No obstante, subrayó que si hay que volver a atrás, se volverá atrás con la medida, que según dijo, también fue promovida por pedidos de los legisladores por Cerro Largo.
Cabe significar que efectivos de la Policía Municipal de la Intendencia de Cerro Largo se dedicarán a una tarea similar en forma permanente en la ciudad de Río Branco.
